In line with strategic priorities, conduct proactive outreach to employers and alumni in a given industry, encouraging them to engage with Elizabethtown College to develop program partnerships and opportunities for students. Track trends in hiring practices, industries/fields, employers, and positions and provide information to the College community. Develop new and maintain ongoing internship and employment positions. Strengthen, establish and cultivate relationships with executive, supervisory and human resources contacts through networking, site visits, alumni connections, faculty connections, families, conferences, cold calls etc. Implement strategies to develop new and enhanced employer connections, including those outside of Pennsylvania.
Provide strategic leadership for Career Service’s employer engagement programs. Develop a vision and strategy for expanding opportunities for employer engagement, internship and post-graduation employment, working closely with faculty and student advisers and Career Center staff to align employer engagement efforts with the diverse interests and needs of our student body.
Provide input and /or serve on College committees charged with developing corporate partnerships.
Work closely with employers to understand their staffing needs and maximize their recruitment efforts by implementing campus promotional efforts to help them recruit Elizabethtown College talent.
Liaison to campus community
Work closely with Alumni Relations and Institutional Advancement to develop key relationships with corporations, alumni, parents and other members of the College community to build stronger engagement, enhance internship and employment opportunities, and to develop students professionally.
Collaborate with the diversity, equity, and inclusion committee to develop and implement an employer engagement-specific strategy that focuses on building strong relationships with organizations recognized for DEI efforts and expanding opportunities for students from underrepresented backgrounds.
Collaborate with Disability Services to provide employers and students with information on disability awareness and reasonable accommodations.
Communicate key employer/recruitment trends to faculty/staff/administrators and support student development by helping the campus community remain informed and current on industry information.
Marketing and Technology
Oversees program marketing including preparation and production of promotional materials, invitations, and publications; updates and maintains department or program website and social media accounts.
Provide oversight of targeted newsletters and job bulletins.
Collaborate with Office of Marketing and Communications to develop targeted marketing materials highlighting Elizabethtown College programs.
Promote Elizabethtown College Career Services events and programs through social media to students, faculty, alumni, families, and employers.
Oversee Handshake or other web-based systems to maintain up-to-date opportunities and events.
Collaborate with campus offices regarding the tracking of Elizabethtown College stakeholders and campus community members and maintain a database of student/employer engagement with the office.
Outreach/ Employer Relations
Incorporate knowledge of legal/ethical considerations and best practices regarding the recruiting and hiring process of college students/candidates.
Generate new employment leads in various career clusters through meetings by phone, digital media, and/or in-person that result in internship, part-time, and full-time employment opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students.
Develop and implement a comprehensive internship and job placement program; actively research potential job opportunities for students; act as a liaison with employers, government agencies and community groups to build partnerships, create job opportunities for students, and funding opportunities. Conduct annual survey of employers who have engaged with the office regarding their experiences.
Conduct and/or participate in on and off-campus career fairs, industry showcases, workshops, chamber of commerce and community presentations and special events; assist in everything from employer communication to logistics planning; participate in networking opportunities and other outreach activities. Lead assessment initiatives for designated events.
MBA/MS in Human Resources, Higher Ed Administration, or Strategic Leadership.
A minimum of three years in Employer Relations, Institutional Advancement, Human Resources/Recruiting, Sales, and/or Alumni Relations
