Reporting to the Director of Advising and Programs at Beyond Barnard, the Associate Director provides advising and mentoring to support students and alumnae in their applications for competitive international and domestic fellowships. The position entails the creation and delivery of presentations and resources on best practices for applying to fellowships, and the cultivation of relationships with internal stakeholders and external fellowship communities. The Associate Director also advises students and alumnae on basic career development topics and graduate school application processes. The incumbent provides guidance and administrative support for Beyond Barnard initiatives as part of a collaborative Advising & Programs team, and contributes to Barnard committees and in nomination processes for internal and external awards as appropriate.

Required Qualification Summary:
M.A. required; a history of competitive fellowship success is preferred
Experience working one-on-one with students in an advising capacity required
Minimum 3 to 5 years of related/applicable work experience required, preferably in higher education, with background in academic advising, fellowship coaching, research, or related field.
Some weekend and evening work will be required.
