Reporting to the Director of Student Services, the Student Services Coordinator will provide wide-ranging support for the Office of Student Affairs, working to enhance the medical student experience at VP&S across a variety of tasks.
Work closely with the Director and Senior Manager of Student Services, assist in the preparation for and execution of a wide array of school celebrations and signature events, including but not limited to the annual White Coat Ceremony, Transition Ceremony, Match Day events, and Commencement-related events
In collaboration with the VP&S Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs and the P&S Club Office, the coordinator designs and develops new programming and community initiatives to engage students across classes in events and co-curricular activities focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion
Support the Director of Student Services in the creation and distribution of a wide range of communications to be shared with students throughout the year. Proofreads and edits material for grammatical and factual accuracy
Assist the Senior Manager of Student Services in management of various smaller events for various cohorts both on- and off-campus
Provide a range of administrative support for medical school students applying for residency programs, fellowships, and international opportunities. Support the Associate Director, Career Advising and Residency Services with the planning for career-related programming, including mock interviews, peer advising, and personal statement workshops
Serves as a general source of information to students, staff, and faculty on policies, procedures, and programs
Manage all processes related to students coming in and out of the formal curriculum for research, leaves of absence, or dual degree opportunities. Ownership of student status updates, listserv changes, and communication with departing and returning students to ensure a smooth process. Support the Director of Student Services in gathering enrollment data annual surveys
Additional ad hoc tasks supporting the overall team as needed
Bachelor???s degree or equivalent in education and experience plus a minimum of three years of work experience
Experience in a high-volume, high-demand service area
Experience working with college or graduate school students; experience with medical education, or experience in a clinic or hospital setting
Evidence of strong written and verbal skills
Ability to work under stress and to meet deadlines
Occasional weekend and evening hours
