Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia - principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Piedmont Virginia Community College seeks an energetic and creative Coordinator of Student Life and Campus Engagement to develop programs and partnerships throughout the college to increase student involvement and student engagement. The Coordinator designs and delivers opportunities that encourage student involvement and college connectedness through programming and participation in student clubs/organization and co-curricular programs/events for students.
The Coordinator will administer a comprehensive and robust student activities program that promotes student growth, enhances student engagement, encourages leadership potential, and diversity and inclusion. The Coordinator provides operational support for all co-curricular clubs and organizations on campus and delivers programs that encourage a diverse, inclusive, and vibrant study body.
The Coordinator is actively engaged in organizing and supporting large-scale events focused on students at the college including fitness/athletic/intramurals, leadership programs, health and wellness, programs, student government, clubs, and social and cultural events. The Coordinator works collaboratively with faculty to promote, advertise, and design programs that promote diversity and inclusion and that enrich the student experience beyond the classroom.
The Coordinator of Student and Campus Engagement reports directly to the Dean of Student Services and works as a key member of the Student Services Leadership team to promote enrollment, retention, and student success.
Provides leadership and direct supervision for the student activities and co-curricular program at the college
Responsible for marketing and promoting a dynamic and comprehensive program of events throughout the academic year to engage and connect students at the college
Manages the budget for all clubs and organizations and submits yearly budget request
Establishes procedures, guidelines, and compliance requirements for student activities including clubs and organizations.
Designs, organizes, and conducts workshops, trainings, and events relevant to student needs, including health and wellness programming
Assists with scheduling facilities and with student club/organization event planning, support, and oversight
Maintains and publishes a calendar of student activities and a resource manual for clubs and student organizations
Oversees operations of the PVCC Fitness Center and supervises the Fitness Center Manager
Assumes responsibility for marketing and promoting a comprehensive schedule of events throughout the year
Acts as a resource for all club presidents and club faculty and staff advisors
Works collaboratively with faculty and staff to offer educational, diversity, civic, and cultural programs that reflect a diverse and inclusive campus community
Assists the Student Services Division in delivering major new student initiatives including student orientation,first year programs, student outreach, and civic engagement
Serves on key committees at the college, including the Student Services Committee and the Enrollment Management Committee
Bachelorâ™s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
