This position will assist the Director of Undergraduate Enrollment Management, working exclusively with undergraduate students at NYU Tandon. Contribute to the department’s overall business objective and success through the administration of student aid from endowed Tandon donor scholarships. Collaborate with the NYU Development Office, Office of Financial Aid, and the Budget Office to ensure all Tandon donor-funded aid is successfully awarded. Responsible for student service counseling and support in order to meet the unique financial needs of the Tandon student population. Under the supervision of the Director of Undergraduate Enrollment Management, oversee a number of student aid processes, including but not limited to, the review and approval of specific Tandon grant funding and awarding of summer aid, managing the review of TAP of individual course approval with academic departments, Tandon appeal aid awarding, and other financial aid services. This role includes the supervision and management of undergraduate student employees. Assist with various on and off-campus undergraduate recruitment activities. These activities will include college fairs, visiting Tandon Center for K-12 STEM summer students, admitted student events such as Days on the Square and Weekend on the Square, and Fall Open House. In addition, this role will assist with the new NYU Tandon STEM Event Space & Community Center located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard where special events and student initiatives will take place.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Master's Degree
Required Experience: 3+ years of university or related student support services experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Demonstrated strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact with a diverse population at all levels. Must have a high comfort level with technology, demonstrating proficiency with Google Docs, Microsoft Office (Access, Word and Excel).
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Experience working in higher education, student services, such as financial aid, student support, or recruitment and admissions. Must be well versed in quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data in NYU systems and be able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards.
