Summary of Duties:
The Site Coordinator has responsibility for increasing 21st CCLC students' engagement in and access to school programs, positive academic behaviors, family connection to the school community and information, and providing support for academic, enrichment, and civic engagement.
The coordinator will use research-based methodologies, curricula, and programs to guide the practice and implementation of 21st CCLC academic and enrichment activities, family outreach, community engagement, and 21st CCLC student mentoring programs. The coordinator will monitor, collect, and document student data for assessment and reporting requirements.
This position will serve and be located at Robert Frost and Captain Grey STEM Elementary Schools in the Pasco School District. This is a temporary, full-time, 11-month position.
The 21st CCLC Program is funded with federal funds by the Department of Education Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant whose purpose is to increase the number of students meeting proficiency standards on academic, to increase the number of students interest and proficiency in STEM subjects, to increase family members' involvement in the school community and their abilities to help students with their educational learning, and to increase community engagement in the schools. These goals are supported through the creation, implementation, and sustainability of academic and enrichment activities for students, academic mentoring, and family engagement and educational activities in partnership with other community organizations.
Positions require a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a yearforyear basis.
Experience providing instruction or direct services to students and/or working with parents in individual or group settings.
Proficiency in the use of computers and MS Office software programs Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Willingness and ability to travel overnight and work a flexible schedule, including occasional nights and weekends.
Must have or be able to obtain at time of hire, a valid driver's license.
Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgment and leadership, including the ability to work independently.
Bi-lingual and bi-literate in English and Spanish.
Three (3) years of experience with enrichment, school, educational, or 21st CCLC programs with increasing responsibility.
Thorough experience with Weikart Center's Program Quality Interventions and Assessments.
Experience in enrichment, academic mentoring, counseling, or tutoring programs.
Demonstrated knowledge of school programs, the school community, and/or parental involvement in community and/or school settings.
Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people, including peers, school administrators, staff, and parents.
Experience in managing, tracking, and reporting program data.
