In support of the University, the Office of Outreach & Student Recruitment actively engages with prospective students and families and the local community to further promote higher education, through in-person and virtual events. This position will be the conduit in connecting prospective students to the campus and will be responsible for developing dynamic events that are culturally relevant and engaging.
The Special Programs Event Coordinator (SPEC) works under the general direction of the Director of Outreach. This position will support events logistics, identify and coordinate space, hospitality, and administrative support needs of multiple prospective and yield events, with special emphasis on underrepresented populations, i.e. African American and Native American.
The incumbent is required to perform in a highly professional manner, using independent and logical thinking, along with supervising event student workers and staff volunteers, as well as interfacing with external partners and campus facilities when needed. Serve as the first point of contact for all interest groups and events, and coordinate details efficiently.
Employment Status: Full-time, 'exempt', probationary (with the possibility of converting to permanent).

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some evenings and weekend hours may be required.
Student Services Experience
Bilingual in Spanish.
1 year of experience in a college/university setting in outreach and recruiting.
2 years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field.
Experience and demonstrated effectiveness in presenting to large groups.
Experience with a CRM.
Experience with social media platforms.
Experience with MS Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Experience using computer programs SIMS/R, OnBase, Peoplesoft, Gmail, and Google Workplace programs.
Experience using Zoom, Adobe Acrobat, Chatbot programs, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) programs and tools.
Knowledge of CSUSB's special programs initiatives.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of CSU and CSUSB selective admissions requirements including the UC a-g subject list and the CSU Admissions Handbook.
Knowledge of CSUSB departments and student services such as Financial Aid, Housing, Academic Advising and Evaluations, EOP, and student life.
Education and Experience
Experience: Possession of these knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth. A master's degree in a jobrelated field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.
Education: Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a jobrelated field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a yearforyear basis.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $4,304 per month
Classification Salary Range: $4,304 to $6,120 per month
