To provide strategic direction and staff supervision to the Career Services department.
Provides oversight of a unit that coordinates a myriad of career counseling, job placement, personal and professional development, internship preparation, and exposure to industry experts experiences through activities such as, but not limited to, career fairs, summits, professional development trainings, workshops, and much more. Serves as a key member of the Bank of America Career Pathways Grant cross-collaboration Team lead by the Assistant Vice-President for Student Experience.
Effectively utilizes fiscal resources; effective control and accountability for physical property associated with accounts assigned to the position; prioritizes annual expenditures in a manner that supports the unitâ™s mission; manages and develops professional staff.
Serves as a subject matter expert, working in partnership with university partners, to develop and deliver career exploration and preparation materials and experiences for first-, second-, third-year, and graduating students. Ensures that learning objects, goals, metrics are properly assessment and available to report; fosters richer partnerships and support the diverse needs of Academic Affairs.
Supervises and provides continued growth and development opportunities to the Unitâ™s career management professionals that is growing in size.
Serve as a Campus Security Authority.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
Master's degree in Counseling, Student Affairs or closely related field.
Ten years of related experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
An earned Doctorate degree.
Ten years of professional experience in career services working directly with college students.
Administrative experience in career development/planning or recruiting in a higher education setting.
