The purpose of this position is to recruit new students to Century College. This person does this through outreach visits to local businesses, high schools, adult basic education locations, CareerForce centers, job fairs, and college fairs. This person is responsible for assisting students through the new-student enrollment funnel.
· Direct prospective students' in-person, via phone, through email, and web-conference interviews for the purpose of promoting, informing, gaining commitment to apply and to encourage students to follow through with the application process to attend the college. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
o Informs prospective students of admissions and other college procedures and policies, projected job market, and career opportunities.
o Advises prospective students on the application process and oversees applicants' steps through to completion.
o Coordinates prospective students' visits with college instructors, financial aid officers, career counselors, student support services and Access Center staff members.
o Assigns and coordinates program start dates for new enrolled students for more than 50-degree, diploma, and certificate programs.
o Contacts high school, college, agency, and dislocated worker counselors to establish good rapport and answer questions.
o Calls prospective students to help establish, maintain, or regain commitment to attend the college.
o Recommends, coordinates, and represents Century College at college fairs, high school visits, and businesses.
Minimum Qualifications:(expected to have to enter job) · Bachelor's degree required.
· Knowledge of the college experience, program majors, and the pre-admission and admission processes.
· Ability to participate effectively in meetings with administrators, college groups, and the public.
· Ability to organize and work on several assignments concurrently.
· Ability to make sound, independent judgments.
· Knowledge in and ability to use computerized database.
· Ability to provide and maintain follow-up statistical reports from program success indicator questionnaires.
· Knowledge of college-wide referral resources for students including those who have learning or physical/mental needs.
· Problem solving:
o Exhibits strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
o Develops questions and listens to responses to determine what the prospective student needs and where they are in the admissions and registration process.
· Flexible and creative in meeting the individual needs of the diverse prospective and new student population.
· M.A. in student personnel or related field
· Ability to speak in a language other than English
· Professional experience in student services.
· Knowledge of new student orientation.
· Working knowledge of enrollment management concepts and procedures, student admissions procedures, transfer procedures, job placement, and career development.
