Reporting to the Director of Career Advising & Development, the Career Advisor will support the career development process of students and alumni through individual coaching appointments, career-related presentations, and executing career development programming and events. The Career Advisor will collaborate closely with other offices, academic departments, employers, and student clubs/organizations. The Career Advisor will put a particular emphasis on supporting and strategizing engagement for the following populations: BIPOC students, first-generation college students, Pell Grant recipients, student-veterans, LGBTQ+ students, and students with disabilities.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of one year of experience in college career services, human resources, social work, or related field, to include internships or graduate assistant positions
Demonstrates evidence of training, expertise, commitment, and sustained engagement in working with historically underrepresented groups
Strong interpersonal, written, verbal communications and presentation skills
Ability to work some evenings for career coaching appointments, presentations, and other events
Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands as well as the ability to change approach or method to best fit the situation
Experience in planning and implementing programs, events, or conferences
