Penn State Law in University Park is seeking an Assistant Director of Admissions and Recruitment in its J.D. admissions office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Represent Penn State Law at recruitment events around the country, both virtually and in person;
Participate in and coordinate panels, information sessions, and workshops to educate prospective applicants about the law school application process;
Be the primary point of contact for prospective students;
Conduct and coordinate building tours and informational meetings with prospective and admitted students;
Develop relationships with student leaders and prelaw advisors;
Play a supporting role in the planning and execution of admitted and prospective student days;
Attend and participate in diversity conferences and events;
Participate in the planning and execution of Explore Law, Penn State Law's program for undergraduates from backgrounds underrepresented in the practice of law interested in law school;
Contribute to the admissions office social media strategies;
Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
The Assistant Director will be expected to travel to attend recruitment events. Travel may be weekly during the fall and early spring. This role reports to the Assistant Dean for Admissions & Financial Aid, with dotted line reporting to the Director of Admissions & Recruitment. This is not a remote position and requires regular in-office work.
Bachelor's degree or higher (J.D. preferred) plus 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in admissions and recruitment (law school admissions experience preferred) ;
A positive, can-do attitude;
Excellent customer service skills;
Superior attention to detail;
Keen problem-solving abilities;
Self-driven work style;
The desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates from backgrounds underrepresented in the practice of law are encouraged to apply. Experience in a law school admissions office is a plus.
