The position goals of the Health and Wellness Coordinator are to manage the Wellness Fitness Center with a high degree of professionalism and customer service and to provide supplemental facilities support for classroom instruction in the Health and Exercise Science Department.
The Coordinator will be responsible for the operation of the Fitness/Wellness Center, to include the organization, promotion, implementation, and supervision of a comprehensive wellness program for faculty, staff, and students.
1.Manage full operation of the Fitness/Wellness Center and Weight Room. 2.Develop and implement a holistic wellness program that includes diverse activities, inclusive of recreation, nutrition and other initiatives related to improving the physical and mental health of CCC students; coordinate program planning efforts with other departments on campus. 3.Support the Student Life department in efforts related to student success, engagement, and in implementation of health and wellness events. 4.In collaboration with the Athletic Department, coordinate group fitness training for student athletes. 5.Manage fitness center budget. 6.Train, schedule, and supervise interns and part-time employees that work in Wellspring Fitness Center. 7.Prepare the monthly schedule for the Wellspring Fitness Center. 8.Monitor/record fitness center usage, including student and staff check in/out, and locker room use and condition. Complete weekly usage and facilities reports. 9.Provide fitness equipment orientations and assist students & staff with equipment use. 10.Maintain Wellness Center area and equipment including wiping all machines daily, providing minor equipment repair and arranging for major repairs when necessary. 11.Monitor and test fitness center equipment for function and condition, reporting when repair/maintenance is necessary. 12.Maintain an inventory of all instruments, equipment, and materials in the Fitness/Wellness Center; Order fitness equipment and develop retention schedule for all equipment. 13.Assist in operation of the laundry room as it pertains to the fitness center. 14.Provide backup facility support to the Health and Exercise Science program staff. 15.Support the marketing efforts for Fitness/Wellness Center programs and services. 16.Carry out all functions relevant to job goals and objectives as designated by Associate Dean of Students. 17.Attend all federally or NJ State mandated training to include, but not limited to, Right-To-Know and Blood Borne Pathogens. 18.Comply with all safety, fire and smoking regulations. 19.Complete all mandatory compliance and safety training as scheduled by Human Resources. 20.Perform all other duties as assigned.
1. National Personal Training Certification 2. Current certification in First Aid and CPR required 3. Current New Jersey driver's license 4. Experience in repair and maintenance of all athletic and wellness equipment 5. Bachelor's Degree preferred, Associate's degree required. Education and training in health, exercise science, or a related field is preferred
