Plans and manages all activities related to academic advisement, Guided Pathways to Student Success programming, and student retention and completion strategies. Provides support to the Dean of Academic Affairs.
Recruit, hire, and onboard advisement staff including full time, part time and student employees.
Provide direct leadership, oversight, and evaluation of academic advisement full-time and part-time staff.
Develop Guided Pathways to Student Success programming procedures to be implemented at all campuses.
Collaborate with transfer and career advisors
Develop liaisons with academic divisions for advisement and retention programming.
Represent the advisement center on appointed college committees.
Direct and lead staff in the development and implementation of college wide retention strategies, including Early Alert software.
Design success and retention strategies for student cohorts.
Assess, evaluate, analyze and report on student advisement services and retention
Oversee advisement Information sessions for students.
Develop professional development for advisement staff and campus stakeholders. Present information workshops as necessary.
Collaborate with all enrollment and student services offices to support advisement.
Participate in campus wide events such as commencement, new student orientation, and open houses.
Manage assigned budgets.
Manage and oversee software including Student Planning and AdvisorTrac.
Comply with all safety, fire, and smoking regulations
Complete all mandatory compliance and safety training as scheduled by Human Resources.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Master's degree required
Five years of experience in higher education administration
Outstanding interpersonal, leadership, supervisory and training skills.
Experience in the management of academic advisement, Guided Pathways to Student Success programming preferred.
Understanding of the role of Academic Affairs in advisement as well as Student Affairs in student retention and degree completion.
Ability to work as a part of a cross-functional team in an innovative, fast paced environment.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated record of leading a customer- oriented staff.
Strong technical skills and familiarity with Ellucian Colleague/Student Planning, website navigation, virtual video platforms and Microsoft Office.
