Germanna Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. As a comprehensive community college, Germanna provides quality, accessible, and affordable educational opportunities for the residents of the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Caroline, Culpeper, King George, Madison, Orange, Spotsylvania and Stafford.
Germanna is currently searching for an assistant in the Career and Transfer Center. The incumbent will assist with a variety of important duties that support the high volume of a busy college wide resource. The assistant will answer phone lines for the Center, greet students, 4-year college representatives, employers, faculty, staff, and other visitors to the Center. In addition the assistant will open and close the Center as assigned, direct students to Center resources, distribute materials to students and assist with Center events. The assistant will provide students with intake forms and answer questions regarding the forms. The incumbent will help with communicating the mission and function of the department within the college and to external constituents.
Primary Job Duties:
Â· Provide assistance for Career and Transfer Center daily operations, in person, by phone and/or virtually
Â· Greet students, 4-year college representatives, employers, faculty, staff, and other visitors to the center
Â· Make appointments for Center staff and support the needs of students making appointments
Â· Asist with developing weekly newsletter and additional social media communication
Â· Understand the role of EAB Navigate and assist students with making appointments through the portal
Â· Manage emails directed to the Career & Transfer while providing guidance, resources and the appropriate people to best assist the student
Â· Participate in events that involve students, community members and partners.
Â· Help support overall mission of the Center.

High School Diploma and administrative experience
