St. Mary's Ryken is seeking applications for the Dean of Faculty and Student Development. This 11-month administrative role contributes to the improvement of student achievement through faculty and student enrichment and support. The Dean of Faculty and Student Development is a member of the Principal's Administrative Team and supports the Principal in providing all faculty members and students with the opportunities, resources and guidance that they need to thrive in a Catholic, college preparatory environment.
Ideal candidates will be able to:
Support all community members in accordance with the philosophies of the Xaverian Brothers Sponsored Schools and St. Mary’s Ryken High School
Coordinate the new teacher orientation program
Coordinate the mentoring program for teachers in their first three years of teaching at St. Mary’s Ryken
Provide for regular meetings and class visits for new teachers, including personal modeling of rigorous, student-centered instruction
Oversee and coordinate the professional development of the faculty
Provide appropriate resources to faculty members for their professional development
Work to increase the integration of technology into the classroom and curriculum
Work with Campus Ministry to provide appropriate faculty faith formation
Supervise teachers in their state and national certification, re-certification and continuing education processes
Support the Principal and Dean of Academics on faculty feedback process and format
Collaborate with faculty on best practices
Coordinate summer mailings to faculty and staff
Coordinate grants processes and opportunities for faculty recognition and growth
Lead student enrichment activities including introduction of new students to the SMR Community
Work closely with the Administrative Team on shared initiatives
Support the goals and activities or the school and Administrative Team as assigned by the Principal
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
This is an 11-month position. Salary commensurate with experience. This position is open until filled.

Qualified candidates will have at minimum a Master’s in Education or comparable field and be able to demonstrate professional experiences providing support to teachers. Qualified candidates must be able to demonstrate 5+ years of effective, inspired classroom teaching, eligibility for state certification, and a record of school level and instructional leadership that is collaborative and positive.
