The Student Care and Women's Wellness Programming Coordinator supports the Dean of Wellness in promoting overall student well-being. This position provides administrative support, outreach, case management and referral to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students experiencing distress or difficulty managing academic and campus life. Specific focus of this role will be dedicated to planning and oversight of wellness outreach programming conducted through the Office of Women's Development.
Required Education - Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in counseling, social work, student affairs or a related field preferred.
Required Experience - Three years of experience in higher education, student development setting preferred.
Primary Duties/Essential Functions
Assists the Dean of Wellness in developing and implementing a comprehensive program to promote campus wellness and identify and manage at-risk students.
Serves as a member of the APU CARES Team and assists in assigning, coordinating, and documenting student cases handled through the APU CARES system.
Provides a point of contact within Student Affairs for students experiencing academic, emotional, physical, and other life difficulties. Helps to coordinate an individualized response to students in distress and facilitates connections to appropriate referral resources on and off campus.
Acts as a liaison and initial point of contact for faculty, staff, and parents around student wellness concerns.
Coordinates or helps to coordinate campus wellness promotion strategies, including but not limited to supporting the programmatic efforts of the Office of Women's Development.
Meets regularly with the OWD Graduate Assistant and undergraduate interns to oversee planning and delivery of outreach programming focused on women's well-being.
Creates and maintains partnerships with key campus offices (e.g., Residence Life, Commuter Life, Accessibility and Disability Resources, Academic Success Center, University Counseling Center, Student Health Center) involved in promoting student wellness and development.
Represents the Dean of Wellness through leadership and/or participation in designated campus committees, including but not limited to the Women's Development Advisory Committee and APU's Alcohol and Other Drug Task Force.
Other office support and administrative duties as assigned.
Knowledge of relevant ethical and legal parameters of professional practice.
Excellent communication skills, including strong command of grammar and writing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint desirable.
Able to work independently and with little supervision, be proactive and take initiative. Actively seeks out opportunities for growth and professional development.
Demonstrates sensitivity and commitment to the unique needs of students experiencing emotional, interpersonal and spiritual concerns.
Demonstrates respect, professionalism and consideration when dealing with students, faculty, and staff.
Grade 7: $19.49-$25.33/hourly
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
