Advertised Job Summary:
Develops on-campus recruiting programs to facilitate employer hiring of UofSC students and alumni. Responsible for the planning, coordination, promotion and evaluation of career-wide events for the Career Center to include all job fairs (approximately 10/year), as well as select special events (i.e. etiquette dinners, conferences, etc.) Fairs/events can be either in-person or virtual.
EVENTPLANNING: (35%) Develops overall concept for annual recruitment program. Establishes or modifies existing programs. Designs and builds event landing/registration pages for each participant cohort (i.e. students, employers, graduate schools, etc.) in online career services platform. Plans event agendas/schedules and manages all logistics for events to include contract negotiations for venue rentals, catering, transportation, parking, security, etc. Develops participant materials, signage, booth assignments and other constituent communication. Develops staff role descriptions, makes staff assignments, and designs and delivers staff training; provides day-of direction and oversight to all staff. Collaborates with technology support services staff to ensure the success of wireless access and online registration processes. Oversees registration processes. Configures and trains colleagues in the use of a job fair app and/or online job fair platform features.
MARKETING: (30%) Collaborates with colleagues in the development of fair/event names/graphics. Develops and executes a comprehensive marketing and outreach plan to promote career events to students/alumni and employers through a wide range of both electronic and print mediums. Collaborates with colleagues in the execution of related initiatives.
BUDGET/FINANCE: (15%) Maintains up-to-date knowledge of competitor pricing. Submits budget projections for each event, tracks expenditures, recommends fee structure to leadership based on peer benchmarking. Seeks to balance expenditures and revenue generation to deliver high quality events which maximize return on investment. Estimates and monitors revenue generation, processes invoices, receipts checks and follows up on past-due accounts.
EMPLOYERRELATIONS-GENERAL: (10%) Develops recruitment programs that positively support the comprehensive employer recruitment experience at UofSC. Develops outreach templates and scripts to deliver high quality customer support in service to critical employer relationships as related to event participation. Assists office and employer relations staff with additional office-wide and employer relations initiatives as needed. Documents relevant employer interactions in appropriate constituent relationship management (CRM) system.
ASSESSMENT: (5%) Conducts surveys and studies of problems and needs. Gathers student/alumni, employer and staff feedback on events and applies information to recommend and make programmatic improvements. Uses database reporting tools within career services online platform to provide routine reporting of registration, attendance, revenue generation, various event stats and outcomes measures.
SUPERVISION/LEADERSHIP: (5%) Supervises graduate and/or undergraduate student staff. Provides technical assistance and training to all Career Center staff, management and the public (employers) regarding assigned program area(s). Reviews the workload and operating procedures of each event; determines priorities and makes staff assignments to control the workload.
Bachelor's degree and 4 years related experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services; or equivalency.
