Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Admissions Officer for Douglass Residential College. This position reports directly to the Associate Dean of Recruitment and Student Engagement. The Senior Admissions Officer develops, implements, and oversees college recruitment activities, manages student groups and employees, and to assists in the implementation of orientation, retention and anti-melt, and engagement programs in the Office of Recruitment and Student Engagement at Douglass College. The position works independently to plan and execute recruitment and student group/employee activities and serves as a first point of contact with prospective students and families. This position designs and executes recruitment, outreach, and communications strategies primarily targeting those students who have been admitted to and/or committed to enroll in Rutgers, with input from the Associate Dean and in collaboration within Douglass and with units and schools at Rutgers to successfully enroll an incoming class to Douglass. The Senior Admissions Officer identifies opportunities for partnerships and meets with colleagues to continue to build its programs and to provide a unified understanding of the ways in which Douglass enhances a Rutgers education.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Acts as the College representative in absence of the Associate Dean, reports on recruitment efforts at the college, and assesses recruitment efforts against successful outcomes by event/activity and overall.
Serves on the University's Undergraduate Enrollment Management Committee representing Douglass.
Supervises and mentors student leadership group that support recruitment, move-in, and welcome days, graduate and undergraduate student employees, temp/hourly staff, and office processes.
Responsible for coordinating and attending program-specific recruiting events as well as maintaining relationships with admitted students after enrollment.
Programming support for summer engagement, move-in for residential students, fall Welcome Days, and academic year engagement programming as directed by the Associate Dean.
As a member of a collaborative team the Assistant Director will assist as needed with other projects.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Leadership, Marketing/Communications, or related field.
A minimum five (5) years of experience in higher education administration, admissions, student services/affairs, program/event development, marketing/communications, residence life or other department with high level of student interaction and service.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Recruitment experience, excellent public speaking skills and be highly motivated to work in a fast-paced environment where competing, multiple priorities must be managed.
Excellent written communication skills, independent decision-making and interpersonal skills required.
Posses a high level of independent thinking and ability to make decisions.

Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Leadership, Marketing/Communications or related field.
At least five (5) years of experience in recruitment in education.
At least 2-3 years of experience with marketing/communications, public speaking, and social media preferred.
Facility with the following programs: MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher and must be willing to learn University systems.
Working knowledge of Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and web content managers.
Experience with Simphony, MailChimp, or other digital communications tools preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The role requires flexibility in working some evenings and weekends due to the nature of work with students in recruitment and engagement.
