This position coordinates Supplemental Instruction programming at Ohio University. The Supplemental Instruction program organizes large group study sessions for large enrollment, historically difficult courses. The coordinator manages the program details and works collaboratively throughout the university to identify courses, partner with faculty, manage student staff, and communicate the services to students. The person in this position will: 1) Manage all aspects of Supplemental Instruction services, including scheduling classrooms and updating information on web pages. 2) Provide direct supervision of graduate assistants and student SI Leaders. 3) Collaborate with academic departments and faculty to align SI Leaders with class meetings and course content. 4) In conjunction with the Director of Academic Assistance, develop and implement assessment and evaluation plans, prepare reports, and provide data for departmental, college, and institutional reporting and planning needs.
A master's degree in Education or related field; at least one year of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education/experience may be substituted in lieu of a Master's degree.
Must have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds. Experience working with adult learning principles; supervision and training; and office administration.
Supplemental Instruction Leader and/or using and applying the Supplemental Instruction model and tutoring practices in higher education.
