The Academic Advisor will: provide academic advising on a full-time basis to the College of Education's undergraduate population; guide students in the development of decision-making skills; advise students regarding the University's policies, procedures, rules and regulations; advise students with regards to academic requirements for COE majors; use data to inform advising decisions and programming; provide instruction through workshops and other avenues; assist with presentations of academic information for recruitment and orientation purposes; identify and implement retention programming and strategies; establish relationships with faculty and staff members; perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Coordinator of Advising, Executive Director of Educator Preparation, and/or the Dean of the College of Education. The position may also include teaching COAD 1000 as needed.
