Experience teaching undergraduate academic courses and seminars
The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering at Iowa State University is seeking applicants for an Academic Adviser II with responsibilities in the area of student services. The Academic Adviser will play a key role in recruiting, retaining, and enhancing the academic experience of undergraduate students.
Assisting students with scheduling, registration, degree audits and course selection, teaching Freshman orientation, and referring students to appropriate resources necessary for retention and academic success.
Assist with recruitment activities such as meeting with prospective students and their families and by contacting community colleges and high schools to promote the undergraduate program.
Plan, develop, and teach orientation/seminar courses.
Teach and develop a career planning course.
Coordinate learning community programs.
Serve on university, college and departmental committees.
Provide career guidance and counseling.
