The Director, Imaging Services provides operational leadership and support for the creation and management of budgets, scheduling process, quality improvement, strategic planning, capital planning, and department growth. Provides staff oversight for all clinical and technical functions in imaging within the assigned area of responsibility. Expected to work with procurement and capital projects to manage capital equipment purchases, upgrades, and projects. Develops comprehensive analytical reports and key performance metrics to guide operational decisions and strategy. Partners with the Senior Director, modality managers, section chiefs and Chair for establishment of operational processes, policy, and procedure. Works with department leadership in the execution of strategy, service line growth, and other initiatives. Successful candidate would have a black belt in process improvement and/or other like formal performance improvement training and or skills; as well as ability to manage complex and large projects.
Radiology Services Mgr 2: Designs and leads operations for large department and/or multiple disciplines in Radiology Services. Accountable for the overall administrative planning and coordination of the staffing, fiscal, and material resources. Assists with the development and implementation of patient care service standards and ensures compliance with regulatory agencies.
Ensures managers and supervisors effectively implement clinical workflows, patient care and equipment standards, radiology best practices and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Reviews and approves policies and procedures for department or division operations. Collaborates with patient care leadership across disciplines to improve workflow. Recommends new systems and equipment based on industry best practices.
Develops and reviews long term strategic goals with senior leadership. Oversees the establishment of service, productivity, and cost containment metrics. Develops new programs and initiatives based on industry best practices.
Ensures proper guidelines for routine quality assurance testing and monitoring of Radiology technology. Recognizes trends and identifies short and long-term solutions to improve performance or resolve problems.
Participates in the selection process for new radiology systems and equipment. Works with IT to establish contingency plans for system downtime or outages.
Coordinates resource allocation for radiology services within approved budget. Approves recommendations for new equipment. Monitors subordinate resource management.
Represents radiology on interdisciplinary committees. Collaborates with patient care leadership and/or physicians on issues related to radiology and patient needs.
Forecasts staffing for long term planning. Defines development plans and core competencies consistent with workforce planning.
Works with subordinate management to evaluate core competencies in Radiology personnel. Identifies the need for professional development among staff. Reviews and approves professional development plans. Identifies the need for professional development initiatives for staff.
Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare or related area, or equivalent combination of experience and training.
Eight or more years of relevant healthcare experience, including progressive leadership responsibility, ideally including imaging services.
Advanced degree in business, health administration or relevant clinical area.
Experience and proven in-depth clinical practice and background in one or more radiology modality.
Licensed technologist in a radiology modality.
LEAN Six Sigma Black Belt certification, or equivalent experience in performance improvement.
Experience managing/facilitating large projects and/or process improvement initiatives across multiple departments.
Experience managing vendor relationships.
Experience in creation of operational analytics to drive departmental performance. Strong Excel and Tableau skills.
Experience managing capital planning and opening new care sites.
Must pass a background check.
Must pass physical, drug screen, immunization screening and TB test.
Must be able to work various hours and locations basedon business needs.
