The College of Arts and Science is seeking a talented Associate Director for International Student Advising. This individual will develop the advising, transition and support programs for the increasing international student population at the College of Arts and Science. Develop strategies and programs to develop a community of students among the international student body, and cross-cultural programming aimed at helping international and domestic students to create community. Advise and teach 2 cohorts of students, serving as their primary academic adviser across 4 years, supplementing faculty advising where needed. Train academic advising staff on international student advising needs, the review and awarding of international credentials, and on global educational opportunities throughout NYU's Global Network University. Chair the International Credentialing Review Committee.
Required Education: Master's degree in liberal arts subject or higher education.
Preferred Education: Ph.D. in liberal arts subject.
Required Experience: 4 years relevant professional-level experience with academic advising in a liberal arts college or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience: Experience with international student advising at a top college or university.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Superior communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels. Ability to advise a diverse student population on a multitude of topics.
