This position serves as the primary advisor to the student organization, Student Leadership Program (SLP), and the supervisor to the Willis L. Jones Leadership Center (JLC) Intern Staff. Provides expertise in the development and execution of student-serving leadership programs and workshops that enhance student learning and development. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive environment by integrating social justice concepts into student training and supervision, program advising, and curriculum and program development.
- One year of education related experience or two years of relevant professional experience. Education related experience can include student services and programming, residential life, and leadership development and education. - Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice. - Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups from a variety of identities.
About University of Wisconsin- Madison- Wisconsin Union
The Wisconsin Union operates two buildings on the UW-Madison campus. The Wisconsin Union is a financially self-supporting division of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Financial support for the organization is provided by income earned by twenty-two food service units and a variety of nonfood units such as games, guest rooms, space rentals and campus vending. Substantial support is also provided by student fees. The total annual organizational budget is approximately $45 million dollars.
Leadership & Engagement is a theme area within Student Affairs at UW-Madison and includes: the Wisconsin Union, Center for Leadership & Involvement, the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life and Advancement & Alumni Engagement. All of these Departments are supported by the Wisconsin Union Administration.
