GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Graphic Design Program Coordinator will oversee the growth and development of the program, balancing the duties of a coordinator with teaching responsibilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate the Graphic Design Program, assisting in program planning and budgeting.
Work closely with admissions and advising to ensure accurate processes are in place for admissions and completion.
Teach Digital Graphic Design courses, including both foundation courses and software applications used in the in the graphic design field.
Identify competencies for faculty in program courses and assist in recruiting and orienting faculty.
Review program curricula, syllabi, course content, and schedules, implementing curriculum changes as necessary.
Convene advisory committee each semester using published guidelines.
Develop marketing materials (e.g., flyers, brochures, mailings) and coordinate promotion in cooperation with the Marketing Office.
Present information sessions and advise prospective students. Develop online information session.
Regularly meet and advise matriculated students.
Coordinate communication and meetings with administration, faculty, the advisory committee, and educators at other Massachusetts community colleges.
Develop a written report on Program's outcomes at the end of semester for reassigned time and review report with Academic Dean.
Participate in appropriate college service activities (e.g. governance committee membership, recruitment activities, development/enhancement of courses/program and/or resources).
Must be willing to travel between campuses as needed to fulfill instructional and non-instructional workload.
Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement
SALARY: Anticipated salary range is $45,771 - $50,000 per year plus fringe benefits. Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with the MCCC/MTA collective bargaining agreement.

Applicants selected for an interview will need to provide:
copies of all academic transcripts,
the name, address, email and telephone number of at least three current professional references,
a portfolio which highlights samples of their work, and
a demonstration of their teaching approach and style.
Masters degree in Graphic Design, Business/Marketing or highly related field required (undergraduate degree in Graphic Design, Print/Publishing or Communications needed).
Five years of current practice experience in the field of graphic design
Knowledgeable of current and emerging Graphic Design trends and professional practices to include understanding of Marketing, Branding and New Media Communications.
Proficiency with technologies relevant to graphic design and digital media.
Prior teaching or training experience required; teaching experience in higher education and/or at the community college level is strongly preferred.
Evidence of current teaching methodologies, including innovative use of evolving instructional technologies in the classroom, and use of learning management systems.
Skill in implementing active and collaborative learning strategies.
Skill in measuring student learning outcomes and assessments, evaluating course efficacy, and improving student learning.
Experience teaching online/hybrid and/or embedding the use of technology into the curriculum preferred.
A commitment to and experience working with a diverse student body is also required.
Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or a National background check as a condition of employment.
