The Customer Service Coordinator is responsible for financial transactions at Cornell Health within the Pharmacy specific to payment of services, navigation of over the counter (OTC) pharmacy retail environments, and management of inventory and supply for OTC areas. This position focuses on routine transactions including Bursar and Credit card payments.The role will work in tandem with members of Cornell Health's pharmacy team to perform daily services for our customers during our standard hours of operation: Monday-Friday 8:30am-7pm and Saturday from 9am-5:30pm.
Please note: This position is considered an Essential Employees; those needed on campus to meet the needs of students, research programs, or general operations when the university is in reduced operating status or closed. This is a benefits-eligible, fixed-term position through June 30, 2022. There is no visa sponsorship available for this position.
A successful Customer Service Coordinator will have strong customer service skills, comfort in collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, and demonstrated attention to detail. Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills in an interruption-driven environment are essential to operate effectively in this role. Cornell Health, by organizational necessity, requires collaborative and attitudinal skills that foster enthusiasm, professional and personal growth, cooperation, mutually respectful communication, flexibility, initiative and adaptability.
High School diploma with at least 2 years' experience in a customer service or health care environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent customer service skills and demonstrated ability to communicate with a broad range of people. Provide consistent professional, courteous service to customers in fast-paced office setting.
Ability to work quickly, effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, use judgment in accomplishing tasks that are confidential in nature and balance conflicting priorities.
Experience with computer applications: MS Excel and MS Word.
Experience working in a health care facility preferred.
Familiarity with insurance payment structures, basic financial transactions, and inventory management.
Knowledge of Cornell on-line systems: KFS - advance deposits, Outlook, Workday, and experience with Cornell policies and procedures in the areas of payable and receivable.
