Friends University is seeking to fill the Director of Academic Resource Center & ADA position in Wichita, KS. This position oversees all student academic support services including the center facility, tutoring, teaching and learning support provided to all University students and faculty by the Academic Resource Center (ARC). Manages administration of services in compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Responsible for maintaining College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) accreditation in partnership with faculty as well as creating and implementing new assistance programs as necessary to support student academic success. Work hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and can include some weekends and/or evenings.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in management role in an academic context. Previous experience working in an Academic Resource Center setting preferred.
Bachelors required; Masters, PhD or equivalent in education or related field preferred.

Strong interpersonal communication, listening, and collaborating skills. Excellent written, oral and presentation skills in English. Excellent organizational, coordination and time management skills. Open-minded and willing to embrace change and challenge. Flexible and able to work under pressure. Enthusiasm for interacting with young people and working in an academic environment.
Solid experience in people management, community development, and training and coordinating large professional and student staff teams. Creative thinking and a passion for taking the initiative. Experience working with academically challenged student populations. Experience in specialty accreditation; preferably writing and reading.
