The University of California Irvine's Center for Educational Partnerships (CFEP) creates collaborations that support preparation for and success in higher education. Our focus is on equity and access for all students in order to achieve the University of California's goal of academic excellence. The Campus Alliance for Minority Participation (CAMP) program, housed within CFEP, is part of the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation initiative. The program's objective is to significantly increase the numbers of students that complete UCI degree programs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. CAMP is especially focused on augmenting undergraduate STEM education through experiential learning, community building, and the sharing of information for underrepresented groups in STEM.
Under direction of the CAMP Director, works with assigned institutions and organizations to implement the California Alliance for Minority Participation (CAMP) in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), targeting incoming California community college transfers and incoming undergraduate freshman. Serves as part of a team to assist in the design and implementation of activities and services aimed at underrepresented undergraduate students in STEM, with an emphasis on data collection and analysis of student enrollment/service data analysis and website maintenance to provide digital communication about CAMP programs.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population, and sensitivity to culture, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, and socio-economic status.
Knowledge and understanding of student development theory.
Knowledge of higher education institutions (UC, CSU, CC, etc.), admissions and financial aid requirements, and the ability to interpret policies and procedures to undergraduate students.
Experience advising and supporting educationally disadvantaged and academically at-risk students regarding postsecondary opportunities and careers.
Strong, demonstrated experience in program design, implementation and extensive evaluation of student data.
Demonstrated ability to read KFS ledgers and update the CAMP budget as well as project projections. Ability to tracks PALCard purchases, travel reimbursements and disbursement vouchers.
Web development and experience.
Strong demonstration of analytical data management and program analysis skills.
At least 2 years' experience working for outreach efforts in the University of California system.
