The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering has two 9- month long professional Master's programs: the Product Development Program (PDP) and the self-supporting Master of Bioprocess Engineering (MBPE) Program. The MBPE program is designed to prepare graduates for meaningful careers as Bioprocess Scientists and Engineers in the biopharmaceutical, industrial biotech, and food tech industries while graduates from the PDP almost exclusively choose to enter industry to embark on a professional or managerial career related to bringing new products and technologies into commercial reality. As the Graduate Student Affairs Officer (GSAO) and primary department/college resource for both of these programs, your time will be split between the two (75% with PDP and 25% with MBPE).
Advises PDP & MBPE Executive Directors on departmental / college and university policies and procedures; reviews students' progress and advises students and PDP & MBPE Executive Directors on requirements for degree / program completion; identifies students with progression problems and recommends interventions; devises curriculum planning in collaboration with PDP & MBPE Executive Directors and faculty, and with other departments.
Graduate Recruitment and Admissions:
Overall leadership and management of annual student recruitment and application processing each academic year.
Plans and implements outreach programs with specifically targeted institutions; advises prospective applicants on necessary academic preparation; appropriateness of program as it pertains to the prospective applicant's goals; utilizing in-depth knowledge of the organization's admissions criteria, helps rank applicants for admissions; evaluates domestic and international transcripts for degree eligibility; initiates and arranges student recruitment events and visits.
Responsible for PDP & MBPE's funds, annual operating budgets, financial projections, account reconciliation, and analysis of financial data.
Oversees the administration, evaluation, and awarding of student financial aid; advises students on each program's financial aid options.
Provides advice and assistance to students regarding program / department / college / university issues.
Makes referrals to on and off campus and community resources.
Plans and implements complex, high-visibility student affairs events, such as new student orientation, end of the year celebrations, commencement reception, team-building activities, etc.
Develops and enhances an alumni recruitment network through events and programming, such as career panels and workshops, happy hour mixers, and alumni office hours;
Coordinates career counseling between students and faculty; Identifies and cultivates potential employers.
Responsible for maintaining each program's facilities.

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Familiarity with or can quickly learn University-specific computer software application programs; can quickly learn and follow University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
Salary & Benefits
This is an exempt, monthly paid position. Annual salary is commensurate with experience within the range of $69,000.00 - $72,800.00.
