About the Position:
The Division of Enrollment Management at George Mason University is seeking interested and qualified candidates the Salesforce Administrator position. This role is a key member of the enrollment management Salesforce team. The successful individual will be a creative thinker, have intellectual curiosity, and a competitive spirit in order to bring innovation and excellence to this role.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Enrollment Services, the Salesforce Administrator will work collaboratively on the centralized Provost Salesforce Team with other talented Salesforce Administrators, Managers, and Analysts. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day support and maintenance of Mason's Salesforce system, with a specific emphasis on supporting operations for the Mason/NOVAADVANCE program, Mason Care Network, New Student Orientation, and other University Life initiatives.
The incumbent must have a deep understanding of the Salesforce platform and its capabilities, and will be expected to make recommendations regarding the ongoing Salesforce deployment and expansion. Position responsibilities will also include daily operations support, configuration changes, reporting, training, troubleshooting and stakeholder engagement to ensure applications meet their current and evolving needs. The position will represent technology needs to central IT operations at both George Mason University and Northern Virginia Community College (Nova), ensuring technology solutions are optimized. Provides technical leadership, training, and support to staff.
Provides top-level functional leadership for the utilization and development of the university Salesforce platform, focused on supporting the business processes for the ADVANCE Mason/Nova partnership, Mason Care Network, New Student Orientation, and related University Life areas;
Develops technology solutions related to the enterprise CRM and other related technology platforms and associated processes in coordination with other Salesforce Administrators;
Customization of Salesforce apps, objects (standard, custom, external), fields, record types, and layouts;
Works with stakeholders to analyze business processes and gather requirements for implementations. Applies a broad range of principles, practices, and procedures to complete difficult and complex assignments, including project management activities such as defining scope, scheduling tasks, and tracking and documenting status;
Coordinates technical needs with both Mason and Nova IT resources;
Monitors, evaluates, tests, and validates application functionality including patches, point releases, and upgrades. Collaborates with IT staff and vendors to provide operational support for end users;
Creates and maintains Salesforce views, reports and dashboards. Retrieves and performs analysis on data extracted from Salesforce, Banner and associated data sources utilizing relevant tools including Salesforce, SQL Developer and Microstrategy;
Provides training for users of the Salesforce platform and other related technologies in coordination with other central training resources;
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree required or an equivalent combination of education and work experience;
SFDC Administrator Certification and significant demonstrated experience as an administrator;
Experience using Demand Tools and/or Salesforce Data Loader;
Experience using Informatica Cloud (or equivalent ETL tool);
Demonstrated ability to understand and/or anticipate organizational needs and translate them into technical requirements;
Experience performing technical user support, testing system releases, patches and upgrades;
Must be well organized and detail oriented;
Ability to manage change effectively and work with teams that collaborate with university stakeholders;
Flexibility and willingness to occasionally work outside of normal business hours and extended days with the ability to juggle competing priorities effectively.
Experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and/or Analytics Cloud; Mass e-mail marketing tools.
