The Coordinator of Service and Civic Engagement within the Leadership and Service Center is responsible for envisioning, planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and services that provide opportunities for students to engage in meaningful beyond the classroom experiences. This includes supporting the development of cross-cutting skills that broadly helps student leaders prepare for a successful transition to the world of work after graduation. This coordinator position has an emphasis on service and civic engagement initiatives in the Leadership and Service Center. Primary duties include:
Coordinate and implement service and civic engagement initiatives that provide meaningful beyond the classroom experiences for all student populations. Program and event planning should include budgeting, assessment, marketing, and risk management, as well as other relevant topics as appropriate.
Supervise, trains, and evaluate a graduate assistant, student employees, student peer leaders, and/or interns of the unit
Serves as a member of the Student Life/Leadership and Service Center staff by meeting regularly with supervisor, attending staff meetings, participating in departmental committees, and developing and supporting internal and external program initiatives
Partner and collaborate with key campus offices to ensure programs, services, and activities support a diverse, equitable and inclusive learning and work environment.
Assists with the development and expenditures of budgets according to University policies
Provides coaching, presentations, and leadership development for students and student organizations to promote involvement, leader and group development, and community engagement.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Masters degree in Student Services or related field and 1 year related experience, or bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience. Evening and weekend work is expected as part of a variable work schedule. Valid driver's license, clean driving record and ability to drive a 7 passenger van is required. This position will also support the University's mission and goals through participating in recruitment and retention activities, as appropriate, for prospective and current students.
