Academic Support Assistant
St. John's College Dean's Office
Greet all guests of the Dean's Office in a professional manner and provide them with the necessary information to minimize any 'run-around'.
Organize and prepare the front-end each morning for the day ahead; track office supplies for re-ordering.
Utilize MS PowerPoint ensure all information screens are updated daily and adjusted as needed.
Manage appointment calendars for Dean's.
Check in all students by adding them to the swipe system's queue.
Assist with student and faculty queries on undergraduate email address by directing to the appropriate dean.
Utilize Banner to retrieve information about student schedules, course availability, room capacities, etc.
Process approved student registration requests, approved registration changes, and approved internal transfer requests; update Banner (Extender, SZACMNT)
Assist Senior Assistant Dean with undecided student registration.
Utilize Banner and the Academic Advisement Report to provide Cumulative GPA and Major GPA information for change of major and minor requests.
Assist students with reinstatement and readmission processes.
Verify and process student withdrawal from the university and academic leave of absence request.
Additional responsibilities as assigned by the dean. Qualifications:
Minimum of a HS Diploma or equivalent
At least 2 years in an office setting, prior university experience beneficial
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel & OneDrive)
Experience with Ellucian -Banner & course management software (Brio or DegreeWorks) beneficial
