The Student Recruitment Specialist represents the University of Missouri - St. Louis, (UMSL), at college recruitment fairs, high school visits, community college campuses, and various other recruitment events and counsels prospective students regarding university information, admission requirements, academic programs, financial aid and scholarships, as well as various university departments and resources.
Contributes to the achievement of University enrollment and recruitment goals and objectives by representing UMSL at high school college fairs and community college recruitment visits; counsels prospective students regarding admission requirements, academic programs, financial aid and scholarships, as well as other university departments and resources; assisting with the development of publications used for admissions and recruitment; responding to written, phone, email, text and in-person inquiries; meeting with visiting students; and planning activities and events, both on and off-campus, for prospective students and community college partners.
Develops and implements recruitment and communication strategies designed to increase the number of students enrolling from an assigned territory, plans and implements successful recruitment events and high school visits, analyzes the recruitment plan for the assigned territory, and exercises fiscal responsibility in using budget resources related to travel expenses.
Utilizes CRM in conjunction with other marketing tools and third-party systems to communicate and engage with prospective students via text, email, and phone.
Remains enthusiastic and provides a high level of customer service.
Analyzes institutional recruitment data as well as data from testing services to target recruitment efforts for successful enrollment outcomes.
Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses required by the Associate Director of Admissions - Recruitment.
Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
Assists with meeting enrollment, recruitment, and student service objectives of the University by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned.
A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Two or more years of work experience in college admissions and recruitment at a regionally accredited institution is preferred.
A valid driver's license is required. Personal reliable transportation.
