The Director of Retention serves as the lead Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for the Kearney Center and University, assuring compliance with immigration regulations and requirements across the University campus. The Director of Retention develops and manages staff and activities to support the retention of international students and their academic success and personal growth.
Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, International Education, Student Affairs or closely related field (conferred on an official transcript at the time of application).
4-5 years of professional F-1/J-1 immigration advising experience.
Program development, implementation, and evaluation experience.
Three years of demonstrated supervisory experience.
US Citizenship or lawful permanent residency status to serve as DSO/ARO.
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
High-level and comprehensive knowledge of F-1 and J-1 regulations.
Demonstrated administrative, organization, and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and activities simultaneously.
Bilingual, with excellent oral and written communication skills in a language other than English.
Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.

The salary range denoted above is the contractual range; however, salary upon hire is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
