The Student Wellness Coordinator responsibilities include the creation, development and implementation of a wellness program for students that includes wellness based programming including but not limited to nutrition, healthy habit development, intentional decision making, mindset and other student wellness priorities. Additionally, the Student Wellness Coordinator will develop, promote and implement recreational programming for students and coordinate program planning efforts with departments on campus. The Student Wellness Coordinator will develop program goals and learning outcomes and produce reports that demonstrate the impact of programming on the student experience and overall student wellness.
Experience using technology for organization, communication, assessment, and program development.
Knowledge and awareness of current research related to student wellness, mental health support, community college student experiences and related topics
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with academic and student service team members.
Experience assisting with the creation, implementation and facilitation of new initiatives from concept to full implementation.
Strong verbal, presentation, writing, and listening skills
Interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to cultivate effective relationships with a wide range of individuals (faculty, administrators, staff, students, and family members) and to work cross functionally.
Membership in National Intramural Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA), Registry of Collegiate Recreational Professionals (RCRP) or Certified Recreational Sports Specialist (CRSS)
Current First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certifications
OVERALL PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITY:
The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community.
Develop and implement a holistic wellness program that includes diverse activities, inclusive of recreation, nutrition and other initiatives related to improving the physical and mental health of RCBC students.
Research, develop and implement appropriate recreational activities for RCBC students and manage all aspects of the program, including but not limited to staff support, logistics, promotions, facilitation, assessment and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with college departments, faculty, and staff to identify shared areas for wellness based program development and support for students.
Develop and facilitate workshops for students around holistic wellness topics in collaboration with other student services departments and academic divisions.
Develop and implement Learning outcomes and strategies for assessment.
Produce regular reports with updates on student satisfaction and programmatic impact on retention.
Support the Student Life department in efforts related to student success, engagement, and in implementation of events including but not limited to graduation.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred in Recreation, Student Personnel, Sports Management, or related field
Minimum of one to two (1-2) years of experience working in an environment related to personal health, fitness and / or holistic wellness.
Experience in a higher education environment related to student wellness.
At least one year of experience supporting students with wellness related concerns and
At least one year developing content and facilitating workshops and conducting trainings related to wellness topics that improve a student experience
Demonstrated experience working with individuals from diverse socio-economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds with a focus on accessing college and community resources.
