College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences, Dean's Office
The Student Success Coach will provide support for undergraduate students in the College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences (CNMS) and students in the STEM BUILD at UMBC program, with a focus on identifying their needs, helping them set achievable goals, and developing their academic success skills. Methods may include, but are not limited to workshops, group sessions, and one-on-one meetings. The incumbent will work closely with staff in CNMS Advising, STEM BUILD, The Learning Collaboratory, and the STEM Living-Learning Community, to coordinate their support efforts with existing and future student success initiatives within CNMS.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience required. A completed Master's degree may be substituted for two years experience.
Ability to work evening and weekend hours required.
Experience in Advising, Student Affairs, Education, or a related field is preferred.
A background in STEM, or a history of working with students in STEM disciplines is a plus, but not required.

This position is partially funded by a grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Continuation of the position beyond the end of the grant (June 2024) is contingent upon the availability of funds.
