Serve as Assistant Varsity Coach of Women's Soccer: assist with the development of and implement recruiting plans in consultation with the Head Coach; following consultation with the Head Coach, actively recruit and evaluate prospects; conduct recruitment visits; conduct recruitment competition evaluations and in-person visits to home, school, showcase camps and club competitions as per NCAA DIII (National Collegiate Athletics Association Division III) and UAA (University Athletics Association) regulations; assess prospective student-athletes skills/abilities and prepare written evaluations of prospective student-athletes for Head Coach's review. Work collaboratively with the Head Coach to develop practice plans, strategies for upcoming contests, and player skills and conditioning programs. Develop and execute a segment(s) of each practice including presenting scouting reports on upcoming opponents; presenting a new defensive or offensive scheme; demonstrating or conducting special player position drills and training. Assess strengths and weaknesses of NYU student-athletes and the athletes on opposing teams and develop strategies and tactics to assist the Head Coach in planning game strategy.
Required Education: Bachelor's
Preferred Education: Masters
Required Experience: 2 years college soccer coaching experience or 1 year coaching and several years of playing intercollegiate soccer.
Preferred Experience: 3 or more years coaching on the intercollegiate level
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: NCAA rules and regulation, Soccer certification. CPR/AED certification as well as Care and Prevention of Sports Injuries. Must have drivers license and pass background check.
