Minnesota State College Southeast seeks an energetic and dedicated individual for an unlimited, full-time (1.0) Machine Tool Technology faculty instructor. This position requires a skilled individual with experience in areas such as Machining, Manufacturing, Rapid Prototyping, Material Process, CNC, CAM, Mechanical Design, and Tool Design. Further, the successful candidate must be willing to coordinate industry partners, high school technical education colleagues, and community stakeholders to facilitate an integrated learning environment across southeast Minnesota. Minnesota State College Southeast is a regional leader in advanced manufacturing and acts as a hub for advanced manufacturing, rapid prototyping, and machining competencies. We are dedicated to propagating collegiate curriculum from within our campus to high school and industrial classrooms alike. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Provide classroom instruction, evaluate and advise students;
Develop and/or revise curriculum;
Achieve mastery of emerging additive and subtractive manufacturing technologies;
Coordinate partnerships with high school tech-ed programs throughout the region; including building articulation agreements, offering joint training events, recruiting secondary students, and supervising supporting grants.
Maintain technical knowledge in the field through active participation in professional development organizations, training at industrial partner sites, and events such as IMTS;
Participate in department meetings, program advisory committee meetings, and college-wide events;
Recruit students through classroom visits in school districts, meeting visiting students, reaching out to students through email or other electronic means, and other methods as appropriate.
Promote diversity and cultural competency;
Perform other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean or Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Course assignments may include day, evening, and weekend hours; and off-site locations.
Education Requirement - Two year diploma in Machine Tool Technology/Machinist
Occupational Experience Requirement - Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in machine setup, programming, troubleshooting and operation of both manual and CNC equipment;
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Teaching and Learning Competency Requirement Must meet the Teaching and Learning Competency Requirement prior to the end of probation.

Faculty shall have a degree in education or three years of successful full-time (or equivalent) teaching experience prior to being hired, or shall be required to complete coursework in the above content areas (or their equivalent) prior to being granted unlimited status.
These courses shall be waived for individuals who at the time of hire have: a degree in education, or have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework in the specified teaching and learning content areas, or have three years of successful, full-time (or equivalent) secondary, postsecondary, industry, or trade apprenticeship teaching experience in the field for which they are being hired. (Procedure 3.32.1 College Faculty Credentialing, Part 5, Subpart B.2)
This course shall be waived for individuals who, at the time of hire, have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework. (Procedure 3.32.1 College Faculty Credentialing, Part 5, Subpart B.3)
AAS Degree in machine tool technology/machinist;
Experience working with customers as an applications engineer, sales person, or similar position requiring interfacing with diverse clients/customers and providing customer service.
Experience working on an academic advisory committee, adjunct teaching, or other academic/mentorship role;
Experience with mechanical design/computer aided design (CAD) /computer aided manufacturing (CAM); such as Fusion360, Solidworks, and/or MasterCAM.
Five (5) years of experience in machining, rapid prototyping, and/or subtractive/additive manufacturing; this includes expert G-Code understanding, confidence with 3d printing, and CNC machining.
Excellent interpersonal and team building skills;
Evidence of experience working with persons/groups of diverse cultures and backgrounds;
Knowledge of multi-cultural, gender- and disability-fair curriculum development;
Knowledgeable and experienced in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
