COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary Range: $60,422 to $92,684 per year, salary placement is determined by documented education and experience.A doctoral stipend of $3,816 per year is provided to eligible faculty.

About the Position:Cabrillo College is seeking an Academic Specialist in the Career Technical Education (CTE) area who, under direction, coordinates and provides data-driven direction for the development and support of noncredit education programs, including activities related to Greater Opportunities through Adult Learning (GOAL) program, and Credit for Prior Learning (CPL); collaborates with internal and external constituents to create breadth and depth of noncredit services to help students transition to college pathways and to develop workforce skills; and performs related duties as assigned.This position is categorically-funded, pursuant to Education Code 87470.

About the Department:Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs offers cutting-edge CTE programs within 13 of the 15 industry sectors defined by the California Department of Education.They offer both academic and career-oriented courses, and these programs help prepare our students for a wide range of high-wage, high-skill, in-demand careers. Many also provide students with the chance to gain hands-on experience through work-based learning opportunities, or prepare them to transfer to four-year institutions.

Examples of Duties

• Oversee the development of noncredit in CTE programs leading to certificates and degrees.
• Communicate with Student Services program personnel, District administrators and support personnel, representatives of State and Federal agencies, educational institutions, social service organizations, counselors and others to coordinate programs, procedures and activities.
• Provide curriculum development support for CTE courses and programs, for all noncredit development including CTE courses and programs, with a program development tracking sheet that includes labor market information and employer letters.
• Liaison between student services and instruction to promote CPL, ease the student process, collect data, and designate CPL on transcripts.
• Collaborate with faculty discipline experts to identify and implement new CPL opportunities for Cabrillo students.
• Develop outcome metrics, collect and analyze data related to outcomes.
• Develop, support and help manage enrollment processes for noncredit and/or CPL.
• Serve on and attend the GOAL Adult Education board meetings, support noncredit courses and programs with adult learners in mind and in partnership with GOAL for marketing and outreach, onboarding support, program development, external partners and Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training (I-BEST) coordination.
• Attend regular Curriculum Committee meetings, Guided Pathway workgroupmeetings, CTE meetings, GOAL meetings, and other relevant college meetings
• Coordinate marketing and outreach efforts with CTE, GOAL, and Cabrillo Outreach.
• Stay abreast of regulations and policies regarding noncredit.
• Oversee, coordinate and ensure accreditation standards regarding the CPL State Initiative: ACCJC Policy on CPL.
• Report to Instruction Council, Faculty Senate, Instructional Administrator Council, division and department as requested.
• Inform faculty on regulations and requirements including census reporting for noncredit and attendance accounting methods.
• Prepares, recommends and implements budgets.
• Demonstrates sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
• Demonstrated commitment to serving students from diverse backgrounds, interests, goals and abilities.
• Any Master's Degree OR
• Valid Lifetime California Community College instructor credential OR
• *Equivalent AND
• Three (3) years of successful experience in teaching, curriculum development, student instructional support.
