Pioneer Connect Advisor is responsible for assisting prospective and current Delta Students in creating and managing their academic pathways, financial aid applications, and course and program management. He or she will meet with students at the Pioneer One Stop Center, online through Zoom and Teams online meeting software and through telephone conferencing. He or she will use email, text messaging, and CRM software to manage communication plans. He or she will analyze student problems, recommend solutions and make referrals when necessary. He or she will provide student learning through group and individual training programs, New Student Orientation, and online advising and student success programs. He or she will coordinate student communications planning; hire, train, and supervise student staff in communications strategies, and follow-up with student problems and issues. He or she will work directly with other Student and Educational Services offices including Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar's Office, Counseling and Advising, Career Development, Student Success and Engagement, the Library and Learning Information Center, and the Testing Center. He or she will also make referrals to faculty and academic staff.
Registration and Schedule Maintenance: Teach students how to register for classes, add and drop classes, change majors, maintain residency,
Advising: Assist students in selecting classes, building class schedules, choosing academic majors and career choices using guided pathways, student advisor module
Student Success Advising: Assist students in academic success management including referrals to tutoring, counseling, academic, and academic skills workshops.
Orientation: Facilitate individual and group student orientation programs for new first-time and transfer students that teaches students how to use Student Self Service modules including Student Billing, Student Planning, Grades, Student Finance, and Financial Aid Counseling. Teach students how to use Desire to Learn (D2L) course management software. Teach students how to manage their courses including registration, adding and dropping classes, changing major
Financial Aid: Assist students in managing their federal, state, and local grants, scholarships, loans, and workstudy. Assist students in filling out FASFA forms online. Teach students how to manage their financial aid using the Student Financial Aid Self Service module. Provide financial literacy advise.
Career Advising – Advise students in completion of Focus2 Assessment to assist students in career planning within the boundaries of his or her expertise, and direct students to planning resources in other areas as appropriate.
Assist students in choosing academic majors and career choices, review career opportunities using degree pathways.
Supervise Student Staff: Hire and train students staff; supervise student projects including call campaigns, emails, text messaging
1-3 years of position related experience
Proficiency in the use of technology in advisement services.

Assess and advise transfer students. Understand transfer agreement and benefits for Delta students. Refer students as needed to appropriate department and/or transfer center regarding professional programs or unique transfer situations.
