Admissions Advisor Position Overview

As a member of the admissions team at the American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS), admissions advisors manage the recruitment, admission, and enrollment of prospective students to the certificate, diploma, undergraduate, and graduate degree programs. This position is critical to the college's efforts to support the success of new students and to meet annual enrollment goals. This position requires working closely with members of the admissions team as well as Financial Aid, Registrar, Faculty, and Staff.

The Work You’ll Do in this Role
Work with prospective students to learn about their goals, interests, motivations, and academic experience to determine eligibility for admission
Demonstrate knowledge about paths to credential or degree attainment, depending on the discipline and educational level, and be prepared to advise students on existing pathways.
Assist prospective students in completing the admissions application process in an efficient and supportive manner including regular follow-up.
Provide information about the financial investment of going to school including specific payment plan options and available funding programs.
Present information to prospective students in a factual and ethical manner including information regarding ACHS programs, tuition and fees, refund policy, and other college policies and procedures that affect students.
Accurately and efficiently create student records in the institution’s recruitment databases and maintain all required application documents.
Achieve departmental enrollment goals through effective follow-up procedures including phone outreach, email, and text messaging (40-60 outbound calls daily).
Develop an ongoing relationship with the prospective student from enrollment through graduation
Demonstrate an understanding of and abide by all applicable federal and state regulations and all accrediting agencies’ standards and requirements for student recruitment.
Professionally represent the College at sponsored events and activities online and in-person as applicable including Admissions webinars and other student support activities.
Submit timely and accurate weekly reports and enrollment updates.

Skills & Experience You Bring to ACHS
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and 3-5 years of related experience in higher education admissions or a comparable role.
Experience and a record of success in achieving enrollment goals for both undergraduate and graduate programs.
Ability to communicate with diverse populations including traditional and post-traditional students, international students, and those with varying academic and socio-economic backgrounds.
Ability to collaborate with peers to complete projects/assignments
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Ability to gather facts and analyze situations in an accurate and organized fashion
Excellent listening and questioning skills
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Must be highly organized and capable of handling multiple caseloads
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suites (e.g. Google Docs/Word, Google Sheet/Excel, etc.)
Commitment to present information in a factual and ethical manner to prospective students, the public, and all stakeholders regarding programs, tuition and fee schedules, refund policy, payment plans, and other college policies and procedures in accordance with the Federal Program Integrity Rules and assures compliance across the Office of Admissions.
