Essential Functions: 1. Oversee the College's esports programming, including academic-related events, special events, and facility operation. 2. Perform esports coaching duties and coordinate recruiting and retaining qualified esports student-athletes. 3. Serve as the College's esports spokesperson and represent the esports program at College and offsite events, in person or virtually. 4. Manage esports arena at the William G. Rohrer Center within the framework of established budget and oversee student workers to ensure appropriate staffing levels for all operating hours and events. 5. Direct, supervise, and evaluate esports games, open recreation gaming, special events, leagues, camps, and tournaments and by establishing operating policies and procedures of the esports arena. 6. Establish and maintain operating schedule, competition and practice schedules for all sponsored events for esports arena at the William G. Rohrer Center. 7. Collaborate with other departments and student organizations to help facilitate academic and shared usage of the esports arena. 8. Coordinate with OIT on equipment maintanence, repairs or replacement when necessary. 9. Develop, market and administer camp/conference experiences that generate revenue for the College and serve as recruitment opportunities. 10. Work to cultivate and maintain corporate sponsorship/donors. 11. Establish expectations regarding general standard of behavior for esports student-athletes and develop a healthy competitive community of gamers and establish guidelines, policies and norms that support student health and well-being, inclusivity, and competitive excellence. 12. Work closely with recruitment and admissions regarding marketing, scheduling and attending recruitment events. 13. Collaborate with Academic Affairs deans to ensure coordinated delivery of esports services and to develop policies and procedures consistent with the College's mission and goals. 14. Work closely with the Office of Communications & Marketing to develop innovative and effective esports communication and marketing strategies and to ensure all game schedules, results, and recaps are correct and posted in a timely manner. 15. Collaborate with the Institutional Research Department to implement a data reporting and analysis structure that can be used to monitor and evaluate esports initiatives and strategies. Prepare and communicate reports as needed or requested. 16. Build strong partnerships across college divisions and with community stakeholders to structure and execute enrollment, recruitment and retention efforts as well as enhance and create new esports-related enrollment pipelines. 17. Ensure best practices for data integrity and compliance in all departments. 18. Comply with all safety, fire, and smoking regulations. 19. Complete all mandatory compliance and safety training as scheduled by Human Resources. 20. Perform all other duties as assigned.
1. Bachelor's degree in an esports-related field required; Master's degree preferred. 2. Demonstrated esports management experience, including strategic planning, budget management, equipment management. 3. Working knowledge of esports gaming equipment required. 4. Working knowledge of collegiate esports leagues rules of play. 5. Successful collegiate esports gaming and coaching experience, including scouting, talent assessment, and recruitment of qualified student-athletes, preferred. 6. Ability to set and achieve or exceed goals and deadlines. 7. Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel for both games and recruiting expected. Evening and weekend availability is required. 8. Successful record of working collaboratively with colleagues across constituency groups (faculty and staff). 9. Must be detail oriented, have excellent customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills. 10. Must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
