Essential Functions: Provide program support to the Office of the Vice President for Research Enhancement and Development primarily for the Initiative for Maximizing Student Development (IMSD) T32 grant programs. The position will develop training programs using a broad range of internal consulting skills including: process-flow diagramming, data analysis, program/project management, database development, competitor and market analysis, document/power point preparation, small group facilitation, synthesis and recommendationdevelopment and presentations to various audiences. The position will work across a wide range of organizational entities to support continuous improvement initiatives including departments and mission areas (e.g., education, research) depending on the priorities of administration and requirements for support and assistance by area. The position will report to the AVP Research Enhancement and Development.Assist leadership with administering technical and administrative projects, undertakings and initiatives. Assist in the preparation of final reports, recommendations, and other information resources for the improvement of the school/college/division or its programs.Assists in the preparation of final reports, recommendations, and other information resources for the improvement of the organizational element or its programs.Work with internal and external groups assuring requirements and program agreements are met (e.g., reports, surveys, etc.); provide project management, facilitation and document production support on a timely and effective basis to support continuous improvement efforts.Respond to requests to produce presentations and prepare slides to communicate progress on assignments and within working groups. Create communication plans that detail how and when information will be shared with clients, stakeholders and team members. Develop marketing materials to promote programs and ensure website updates occur in a timely manner.Work with mid-level management to establish policies, create facilitation materials, develop training programs, and support group processes. Track overall project progress using project management tools and prepares summary reports for administrators.Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field. Master's degree preferredProject coordination/program management experience preferably in higher education or other complex, matrixed or shared services environment.Experience with developing communication plans and familiarity with change management plans. Experience with organizing and conducting project team meeting and facilitating discussions with cross-functional teammembers.Experience with creating documentation and /or training materials. Experience with creating various types of reports, e.g. status, analytical and/or statistical reports.Demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices pertinent to local, State and Federal rules, regulations and laws. Demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices of research, analysis and management, presentation preparation, database management and manipulation and group facilitation. Ability to create and manage databases. Strong analytical and computational skills. Knowledge of office management techniques and practices.Ability to exercise initiative, problem solving, leadership and decision-making skills. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, faculty, and the public. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Able to work effectively in teams. Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and internet use. Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
