Park Tudor is currently seeking a Director of Health & Wellness. This position includes the management and oversight of programs and operations for The Irsay Family Sports Center for Health & Wellness. It is a full-time, twelve-month position responsible for overseeing the vision, development, and implementation of a strong, innovative, and student-centered health and wellness program.
With the whole student in mind, this effort is a vital part of Park Tudor's initiative to promote physical and emotional health through a lifestyle of wellness and fitness. The building is 85,000 square feet, has five basketball courts (two main courts and three auxiliary courts), an indoor running track, and a series of multipurpose spaces that will nurture mind, body, and spirit while giving students and teachers plenty of room to engage, learn, and gather.
Essential functions include the following.
In collaboration with the Associate Head, Director of Curriculum, and Division Directors, design and implement a school-wide student-centered Health, Wellness, and Fitness Program. This program includes a holistic approach to Mind, Body, and Education and a developmentally sequential curriculum for the physical, mental, social, and emotional health of Park Tudor students, JK-12.
Responsible for the oversight of The Irsay Family Sports Center for Health & Wellness, including but not limited to scheduling, community engagement, food services, and facility management.
Lead health and wellness curriculum development and teach courses as needed.
As part of a dynamic Health, Wellness, and Fitness program, develop summer camps, and courses for lifetime health, wellness & fitness skills.
Lead the Health and Wellness staff in creating, developing, and administering policies and procedures.
Manage and oversee the Health and Wellness Center operational capital budget including facility revenue, expenses, commitments, etc. in cooperation with the CFO.
Work with Head of School and Director of Development to raise funds for the Center’s continued success and additional programming in the Health and Wellness Center.
Create an environment that inspires innovation and effective student development outcomes.
Ensure the Health, Wellness and Fitness Program is consistent with Park Tudor’s vision of lifetime health, wellness, fitness training, and education for all students.
Develop and promote effective collaborative relationships among students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
Meet regularly with the Head of School and the Athletic Director to discuss community programs, fiscal recommendations, and school initiatives.
Participate in enrollment management initiatives and campus-wide committees.
Collaborate with Facilities and Grounds for ensuring custodial cleaning, routine maintenance, and quarterly and annual maintenance of the Health and Wellness Center.
Serve on committee meetings to coordinate related policies and campus-wide events.
Manage the inventory of all capital assets including original furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Oversee the coordination and scheduling of various athletic and non-athletic events, court reservation, etc.
Work with the Health & Wellness Staff, Athletic Director, coaches, faculty, and staff to ensure proper functioning and operations of the Center.
Attend teacher meetings, training sessions, professional development and faculty meetings.
Responsible for evening/weekend activities as required.
Participate in Park Tudor’s strategic planning and initiatives.
Oversee branding and marketing efforts for facility.
Experience: Must have 3-5 years of professional experience in a K-12, college/university environment, or a sports/recreational center
Demonstrated experience in developing recreational sports, health, wellness, and fitness programs
Demonstrated experience in managing and maintaining fitness facilities
Demonstrated fiscal accountability
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities
Ability to write concise and logical reports
Knowledge of standard practices in health, wellness, and fitness
Demonstrated experience and ability to work as part of and lead a collaborative, professional team
Entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in core technological competencies and a proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, scheduling software
