Bentley School is a K-12 co-educational, independent day school located on two campuses in Oakland (K-8) and Lafayette (9-12), California. Responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to:
Supporting teachers in all aspects of the school day
Supporting teachers in online student assessment, both formal and informal
Creating a positive learning environment where students thrive academically
Collaborating regularly with the other grade-level teachers and specialists
Carrying out supervisory duties
Participating in all aspects of Bentley’s character education curriculum
Designing innovative curricula in which both academic and social-emotional growth are considered
Attending regular faculty and grade-level meetings and various school functions
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with an interest in a teaching career. Enrollment in teaching credential or Master’s degree program in Elementary Education or preferred
Experience in an interdisciplinary environment with an emphasis on group collaboration and use of technology
Experience in teaching problem-solving skills in addition to traditional core content
Excellent interpersonal, writing, and communication skills
Ability and willingness to work with students in large and small group settings using multiple teaching methods to reach a broad range of students
Desire to continually examine one’s practice with the goal to improve student learning
