The Residence Director position is a full-time live-in role that has primary responsibility for managing the daily operations of a 400-600 bed residence hall. Key functions of the position include student staff selection and supervision, student conduct adjudication, occupancy management, policy enforcement, student leadership development and community building through programmatic efforts.
The Residence Director is expected to implement a student development approach, and in all aspects of the position be guided by the core values of respect, education and service. Among the other professional staff the RD will work with are these key complex staff members: Residence Life Services Supervisor, the Assistant Director of Residence Life, and the Facilities and Dining Staff managers. Must be available via cell phone during working hours.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree plus one year of leadership experience in a student housing employment position required. Demonstrated experience leading a team of college students necessary. Ability to communicate and work well with others essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and e-mail systems required. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
Master's degree in student affairs, college student personnel administration, or a related field is preferred. Two or more years of full-time experience as a Residence Director directly supervising live-in Residence Assistants is desirable. Participation in professional staff on call duty rotation is helpful. Experience serving as a judicial hearing officer adjudicating college/ university policy violations; hall government advising experience; and budgeting experience are beneficial.
