The VCSA will serve as a highly-engaged and visible advocate for students and will build robust and meaningful connections within the campus community. The VCSA position requires an experienced and energetic professional with a thorough understanding of the best practices in student affairs, as well as the key issues that face the student population in modern higher education. The successful candidate will be a visible, student-centered leader with a highly collaborative management style and a strong record of creating a climate of openness and mutual respect. The VCSA must also possess a deep understanding of the educational value of a land-grant research institution and be astute to the trends, challenges, and opportunities for innovation in student affairs.
UNL is deeply committed to its land-grant mission and is consistently recognized for its value and access to the citizens of Nebraska and beyond. Recently, the university laid out a bold N150 vision for the next 25 years: The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is unparalleled among public research universities in access, opportunity, innovation, and life-long experiential learning. The university’s first five-year strategic plan to achieve this vision, N2025, launches in February 2020.
