Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: supervise the operation of two residence halls and Graduate Resident Directors; serve as the point person for the department for all Residence Life CARE reports; assist the Director of Residence Life in directly addressing and managing any crisis/emergency situation pertaining to the residence hall students; assist in maintaining records related to students of concern; facility management, maintenance and inventory; staff development and training; ; enforce University policies; assist in the development of manuals, training programs, educational procedures, etc.; serve as liaison to the Office of Student Support.
Earned master’s degree in: counseling, psychology, social work, public health, or student affairs. Five years of work-related experience in higher education in the areas of residence life, case management, student counseling services, or student health services. Mastery and expertise in data collection/interpretation, assessment, and evaluation to influence strategic outreach to students in crises and implement developmental approaches to bolster retention. Demonstrated experience in working with populations of diverse backgrounds, for example but not limited to: LGBTQI, Black/African-American, Latino/Latina, international students, and students from varying socio-economic statuses.
