Reporting to the Assistant Vice Provost/Executive Director of the Center for Identity+ Inclusion, the Director of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Student Life (LGBTQ) maintains and enhances educational, social, support, referral and resource programs and services for students regarding issues of sexual and gender identities. Serves as an advocate for the concerns of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, same-gender-loving, queer and questioning students in the College, graduate divisions and professional schools. Directs strategic planning and the development and implementation of programs and services. This person will serve on the senior leadership team for the Center.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Develop short- and long-term goals and learning objectives. Create a robust program structure offering learning and engagement opportunities around identity development and understanding, intersectionality and other relevant topics that increase awareness and foster community for LGBTQ students. Oversee and enhance mentoring and safe space training programs through program review and partnerships with areas across the University. Plan, administer and monitor program budget. Work with the Executive Director to develop and manage fundraising efforts. Represent the Center in various campus, community, state and national settings. Establish and maintain linkages to similar programs at other institutions and community organizations dealing with issues that impact the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning community. Collaborate with students, faculty, staff, University departments and alumni organizations. Establish and administer policies and procedures within the office. Supervises one Program Coordinator and two Graduate Assistants. Perform related responsibilities as required.
