Coordinator, Residence Life
The Residential Education Specialist 01 (Residence Life Coordinator) reports to the Assistant Director of Residence Life and is responsible for assisting with the supervision and administration of a residence life program serving over 1,700 students. Oversee and supervise the daily operations of 10 – 16 resident assistants, advising residence hall councils, program development and conflict resolutions. This position is responsible for implementation of the Student Conduct system within the residence hall, on-call duty rotation, and crisis management. Assist in departmental responsibilities including the recruitment, selection, training and supervision of 47 resident assistants. Collaboration, communication, and committee work with multiple campus constituencies including Housing and Food Services, Police and Safety, Personal Counseling, Student Activities, and the Division of Undergraduate Studies. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Student Personnel/Counseling or related area preferred. Experience working with living/learning communities, honor's programs, and upper-division living/learning environments is preferred. Demonstrate a commitment to the development of a community where diversity and sustainability are valued. Driver's license preferred. If operating a University vehicle for this position, candidate will be required to successfully complete a motor vehicle records check. This is an annual position typically funded for up to four years. Appointments will be made on an annual basis based on continued satisfactory performance. Anticipated start date will be mid-July, 2017. This is a 91.7% full-time equivalency (FTE) job. Month off is mid-June to mid-July each year. Full Penn State benefits included.
